Sketches of Memory
Sketches of Memory is a work by Italian composer and oud player, Marco Sollazzo.
Contemporary music shaped by Mediterranean traditions, Turkish modal music, progressive/jazz-rock traditions and experimental composition, written for oud, wordless voice, electric guitar, bass/double bass, and drums.
The music explores memory, emotion and shifting states through space, silence and evolving energy, moving between intimate, spacious passages and moments of intense expression, while connecting ancient musical traditions with a contemporary sound.
